About Cocoa Kiss Chocolate

After 33 years in active pursuit of all things chocolate I found myself on a chocolate appreciation course and from there my taste buds, and expectations, were set on a unexpected journey—I had discovered good chocolate!

All of a sudden those major brands found in supermarkets and other outlets (you know who I am talking about) started tasting of nothing but sugary-sweetness and vegetable fats. This I happily traded for the rich, strong and sensual tones of quality chocolate that literally sends shivers down my spine. And once you’ve been there, there’s no going back.

As my preference for good chocolate continued, my love of chocolate evolved into a passion. Given half the chance I would talk to (or perhaps more talk at) friends, family members, colleagues, strangers on the train – anyone –about the joy of great chocolate. And one thing that continually elicited comment, and that I noticed myself, was my eyes would literally light up and I felt impassioned and alive.

So from this genesis, and with the encouragement of a lovely man, I decided to do something about this bundle of energy, and so Cocoa Kiss was born. The intention of Cocoa Kiss is to continue my love affair and my education but to share this with like minded souls.

I have very firm ideas on what I enjoy and I continue to refine this, but I also believe that chocolate and taste are personal experiences and what is right for me may not be right for you. I also believe in keeping an open mind and whilst I am happy to share my opinion and encourage others to do the same, take these as a recommendation but with a grain of salt. If you really want to try something go for it and make up your own mind based on your own preferences and experiences; and hopefully you will share that experience here.

I won’t personally buy that well known brand (although greedy me will probably eat it if you put it in front of me and I will lament later) but if that is what you enjoy – enjoy it! Likewise, you may not be able to afford the good stuff, as sadly this often comes at a price, go with what you can afford and maybe treat yourself every now and then. Again, it’s all personal.

And because I think personal taste is important I have included a profile of both myself and other tasters to help you understand how we come to our conclusions and how this may relate to your personal preferences.

I genuinely welcome you to post your feedback—whether you want to concur, disagree, chat about your experience or just enthuse about our shared love of the sweet dark stuff.

Thanks for visiting and happy chocolate eating!
