Michael's Chocolate Profile

Dark
Taste in transition - a former milk chocolate aficionado he's starting to move over to the dark side.  Still erring on the side of a lighter, bitter sweet taste rather than an intense 85%+ experience, but Michael concedes he is getting darker in his preferences.  Sugary sweetness is dropping down the priority list in favour of good quality chocolate and the age-old mantra, less is more.

Milk
Not quite what it use to be.  Michael finds milk chocolate okay but generally just that - okay.  Dark is proving to be a more powerful chocolate motivator.

White
Not a fan.  In fact the words were 'I'd have to be pretty desperate' and he'd take a lolly over white chocolate as either way this is all about the sugar fix.  Although Michael does concede he can make an exception if you mix a piece of white chocolate with a piece of dark chocolate - apparently a yummy concoction.

Nuts and things
He loves it!  In fact his favourite thing to mix with chocolate is peanuts (although he still manages to rustle up a rather hefty list of other favourites - see following).

But its not all about taste, he also loves the texture combination of combining nuts and chocolate - something I don't like, but I guess it comes back to my theory that our chocolate loves are very personal and different.

Michael bashfully admitted a secret passion for peanut M&M's.

Individual chocolates
I know he's a fan of individual chocolates we wrote this in a cafe, over a plate of gorgeous chocolates, which we soon finished and sheepishly ordered a second round...

So he likes them and finds lots of interesting flavours, although bypasses things like apricot filled chocolates and fruity cream centres.

Hot chocolate
Not high on the agenda for Michael, he would prefer a good coffee over a hot chocolate.  However when he does occasionally travel down this beverage route he has high standards and won't order a hot chocolate unless he has some conviction it is going to be good.  And if it is, he'll revel in the taste.

Other likes and loves
Adores chilli and chocolate, even the hot stuff
A good caramel
Nougat
Cinnamon
Peppermint
Raspberry
Citrus
Toffee style brittle (where its incorporated into a chcooalte, its all about the texture)

Dislikes
Apricot
Fruity fillings
Michael wouldn't normally buy a plain block of chocolate, not unless it has something in particular to tempt him like nuts or cinnamon
